Canoeing through the books
Logo Design, C1, C4 and spine Layout
Pacific Nord-Ouest Editions (PNO) is a publishing house based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. They are focused on francophone authors living in Canada. They needed a logo to be on their books, in book shops and on their website. Passionate with stories and history, they wanted a logo that was inspired by a Legend by Emily Carr. They also asked me to design the cover’s layout (C1, C4 and spine) for their junior collection.
Louis contacted me after the French book fair, as he loved the illustration for the event and was very happy about the candid universe I built for them. We connected instantly, talking about books, collections, and cover designs. Louis is playful, enthusiastic, and curious about art and design. He is a one-man publishing house, he is a doer, and I wanted him to have a logo and a collection that is flexible enough to be fun for him to use while keeping a feeling of quality and harmony.
